Welcome & Introduction to Our *NEW* Website & Blog!
We’re very excited to share a few updates with you, our supporters and friends. As we move towards the end of this year, we’ve been working hard to move our work forward and make positive changes to our organization in collaboration with our board of directors, our new Executive Director, Kelly Beevers, and longtime advisors and supporters who have historical knowledge about the Montana Grazing Lands Coalition (MT GLC).
MT GLC is a grassroots, rancher-led nonprofit organization that, since 1991, has worked to maintain and improve Montana’s most valuable resource, grazing lands, through collaboration, diversification, and connection. Our work has three buckets: supporting learning through grants for education and demonstration, providing technical assistance related to grazing management, and serving as a connection to partner resources. Let's start with sharing a bit about our beautiful new website. MTGLC worked with a talented, local contractor out of Winnett, MT to make the website a valuable tool for connecting ranchers to resources and for improving awareness around what we do and how we do it. New navigational tabs will take you to a page where you can apply for grant funding, stay updated about events near you, learn about our work and the background of MT GLC, and review resources in our Resource Hub that cover many relevant topics such as grazing and infrastructure, funding, and wildlife.
You may notice the coloring, messaging, and language on our website have been refreshed even though the bones of who we are have stayed the same. You’ll also hopefully feel a sense of calm and ease as navigating the website is intuitive and easy, with clear wording and muted colors that feel natural, like how nature feels when you’re outside. The lighter and darker green font colors on a neutral background with pictures of Montana landscapes make viewing enjoyable. One of our favorite pages is our Home page where you can go to be introduced to MT GLC, click to learn more about our grants and funding support, and easily see what events are coming up so you know well in advance and you can add them to your calendar.
Our goal was for the website to be informative, experience an update to move the MT GLC forward, and stay true to our roots, all at the same time. We think we nailed it, quite frankly! We’re excited to hear what you think and if you love it as much as we do.
Next up, our blog! Our blog is a space that lives on our website where we’ll share information, updates and stories with you about all things grazing lands in Montana. We have a few blogs in the works that will focus on a few key champions of MT GLC. In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be sharing their stories with you and how they’re connected to MT GLC and our work. From there, we want our blog to be a space where communication is prioritized, connection is paramount and we tell the story of MT GLC through the people and voices that steward and shape Montana grazing lands.
